Connie and Rod are one of the sweetest, most inspirational couples we have been lucky enough to work with. The couple was after a simple, relaxed yet elegant and beautiful wedding, where all of their guests could truly experience the beauty and gastronomy of Provence.
We started, as always, with sourcing the perfect Provence venue for them: a luxury hotel that could accommodate all of their guests, and with a Michelin star chef in the kitchens!
The day started with the bride and groom getting ready in separate areas of the hotel. Connie chose a stunning fitted dress with lace and beads. She styled it with an elegant low bun do, a sophisticated make up, and pearl accessories.
The venue offers one of the most breathtaking views over the hills and villages of Provence and the Luberon. Naturally the couple chose the venue’s best views for their outdoor wedding ceremony. Some refreshments were served to the guests ahead of the celebration, to help them keep cool in the heat of Provence.
The ceremony was followed by cocktails around the pool with views of the beautiful village of Bonnieux. Guests were served delicious canapés, minute made truffle pizzas, and champagne of course! It was a perfect time of day to enjoy the surroundings, play a few garden games, taste some amazing foods, all to the sound of a classical quartet.
During the cocktail hour the couple had their couple photos taken around the venue’s best spots.
Then came the time to sit down for dinner. The couple was after a beautiful, elegant setting, yet nothing too formal or lavish. Together we imagined a soft colour palette of creams, pinks and blush, beautiful natural linen on the tables, simple crockery matched with classic elegant glassware. Each guest had a beautiful flower on their place setting, as well as a little favour: a gold dusted macaroon in a glass jar. Table names were places the couple had travelled to together (and there were quite few!), beautiful hand illustrated in monochrome as to not spoil the simple design and soft colours of the tables.
The dinner under hundreds of fairy lights was entertained by a lovely singer and guitar duo interpreting some of the couples preferred songs. Then came the wedding cake and the dance, with the initials of the couple in large light letters decorating the space!
Connie and Rod’s destination wedding in Provence was all one could hope for: intimate, beautiful, stress free, and a great experience for all their guests!
