FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CAN WE GET LEGALLY MARRIED IN FRANCE
You would need to prove at least 40 consecutive days of residency in France to qualify for a legally binding wedding in France. Those take place at the city hall, and you would need a proof of legal marriage in order to get married in Church.
Most of our couples get legally married in their country and have a symbolic or religious service in France.
HOW LONG BEFORE THE WEDDING DATE SHOULD WE BOOK
The earlier the better, but we usually recommend between 20 and 15 months prior. In some highly thought after areas venues can be all booked up as early as 12 months in advance. That being said we have planned weddings in a as little as 4 months, if you are flexible on dates we are always able to find a few really good options available out there!
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL SIZE OF WEDDINGS YOU PLAN
We have planned weddings for as little as 12 guests and for as many as 200 guests. So there is no typical size, or even style. As long as we are confident we can bring your vision to life, anything is possible!
WHAT TYPE OF BUDGETS DO YOU WORK WITH
We usually require to work with budgets from 40,000 Euros for intimate weddings of less than 50 guests, and from 60,000 Euros for larger events.
HOW DO YOU CALCULATE YOUR FEE
Our fees are calculated according to each project depending on the size and complexity of the event, on wether there will be side events to plan and coordinate, etc. After an initial consultation we would draft a personalised proposal for your project.
DO YOU NEGOTIATE VENDORS RATES?
As planners we have an invaluable experience of how much things tend to cost and we use that knowledge to advise our couples on how to make the best use of their budget. We sometimes negotiate some vendor prices and often our partners would do us some favours so that we can exceed our mutual client's expectations, based on our long lasting relationship. But we believe it is important that talented people get a fair remuneration for their services and therefore we would only negotiate in a way that is respectful of each professional's value.
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD?
I believe the main strengths of our wedding planning service are
- Our wealth of experience: EVW was among the first destination wedding planners in France, we have been planning weddings in France for over 8 years and have over 11 years experience planning events
- Our dedication to our couples: from the moment a couple chooses us to be their wedding planners we are committed to provide the best service to them. We really want to make this an enjoyable, stress free and straight forward process for you and will do everything we can to achieve that goal
- Our bilingualism: communication is so important in every aspect of our job and being able to fully understand our couples and translate their brief and wishes perfectly in French to our local partners seems absolutely paramount to us
