including your own French home
Some couples come to us with a very clear idea of where there would like to get married and the type of venue they are after, but some others just dream of getting married in France for a destination wedding with great food and wines, and do not really know where to look to start with. So here is a little guide to the main “wedding regions” of France…
Paris, also known as the “City of lights” and the “Cité de l’amour”, is just the most romantic city in the world! Its bridges over the river Seine offer some of the most magnificent views of the city.
Weather wise, Paris is quite similar to London, only a little bit warmer (from 2 or 3 degrees), so if it is the guaranteed sun option you are after, you might want to head more south…
In Paris, you can get married in the gardens of a beautiful museum, in a “hotel particulier” hidden in the small streets of the city, in a luxury hotel such as the Plazza Athénée or the George V, or in a circus museum! From the very classic to the really original, anything can be found in Paris! And if you would like to enjoy green spaces for your wedding day, there are also lots of beautiful chateaux and farmhouses in the outskirts of the city…
The region offers many sceneries, from lavender fields to beaches and mountains. This means that in one weekend you can picnic in the fields, attend a lavish wedding in a stunning chateau and enjoy a Sunday brunch on the beach!
The budget for a wedding in the South of France is usually a bit higher than in other areas – except Paris- but if this is your dream wedding location we can always find the right combination for your event!
The Normandy region of France combines a 360-mile dramatic coastline, with a verdant interior of lush farmland, bustling market towns, and stunning cities and villages such as Honfleur, the Mont St Michel or Deauville. Gastronomic delights abound, from fine cheeses to cider and Calvados.
in Normandy, the sunny weather is not a certainty but you will find breathtaking landscapes and lots of things to do and see around for you and your guests.
Venues in Normandy and Brittany are typically manor houses, farmhouses or chateaux, made of grey stone with white or blue shutters.
The Sud-Ouest is the main wine region of France. On the Atlantic coastline you will find long expanses of sandy beaches and great surfing spots, whereas the inland – home of foie gras, greasy duck breasts and cured ham – offers acres of vineyards and lots of beautiful chateaux.
In this region the weather is usually sunny but not too hot, evenings can be a bit chilly.
The quantity of venues available for weddings in this area is overwhelming. With lots of wine estates, there are many Chateaux to choose from, although if you are after a more relaxed wedding there are also beautiful manor houses and farmhouses around.
